Hate the Snow? #METOO!

So for those of you who know me, you may know that I really hate when it snows. And when I say hate, I mean I really hate the snow. It has nothing to do with Seasonal Affective Disorder or fear of the weather, but simply that I am more of a spring-autumn kind of woman.

I refuse to leave my habitat in the cold weather, so I tough it out and find way to keep myself productive and from losing whatever is left of my sanity. So if you're like me and you hate snow and cold weather, here are some things you might want to do to help you make it through the weather.

Watch Movies and Binge on Junk Food

Curl yourself up in a ball and get some popcorn or ice cream. I personally have a collection of DVDs that I like to consider before logging on to Netflix or Hulu. It takes my mind away from the outside world temporarily.

A horror movie is usually a go-to since the weather outside is frightful(no pun intended), so I might as well get more shaken up than I already am. If you too are considering a film in the horror category, I would recommend watching Stanley Kubrick's The Shining since it revolves around Jack Nicholson's character developing cabin's fever from being snowed into a hotel. If you don't like scary movies, there's a wide variety of films to watch and keep you entertained until the snow passes by.

Read a Good Book

Take some time to explore into literature. There are some people who always claim that they can never get into a book because they are not a reader. At that point, a snowy day would be the best time to get into it.

There is always at least one book that everyone likes. It doesn't hurt to consider it before officially declaring that reading is for squares. Have to hot cocoa or hot tea and get lost in your imagination while reading a good book.

Schleep

You can never go wrong by taking a cat nap or going full on sleeping beauty mode. Just don't overdo it because you'll become over tired and your life becomes a mess for that day. Maybe a 15 minute power nap in the middle of the day and get some rest until it's time to go to bed and get what I hope would be eight hours of sleep. A warm blanket and fluffy pillow should do the trick.

Go Nuts

Heck, if all fails, I normally just go crazy. Just ask my parents, siblings, husband, and college roommates. Have a solo dance party or a solo karaoke night if you're really bored. At least it'll be a funny story to tell your kids after you you hurt yourself tripping over your laptop charger.

Let's just face facts and agree that being snowed in is the most annoying thing. However, it sure beats having to be outside in crazy weather conditions.
